ZEISS highlights LIMAA’s fully automated, tissue-preserving 3D histopathology

ZEISS Microscopy has published a user story featuring LIMAA Technologies and our end-to-end, tissue-preserving pathology platform.

The article describes how LIMAA integrates advanced sample preparation, optical clearing, and ZEISS Lightsheet 7 to image whole tissue specimens without physical sectioning. By combining nanobody-based multiplex staining (whole tissue IF staining times from weeks to under an hour), rapid optical sectioning, and a fully digital workflow with AI-supported analysis, laboratories can preserve precious tissue, analyze every cell within tissue context, and accelerate clinical decisions.

Sites who will adopt the platform can expect a markedly shorter turnaround time and up to a 200% increase in sample throughput - helping pathologists keep pace with rising sample volumes while improving diagnostic confidence.

Highlights

  • Whole-sample volumetric imaging with ZEISS Lightsheet 7—no physical sectioning, no slide scanners required.

  • Nanobody technology enables fast, deep tissue labeling for high-content multiplexing in an entire tissue specimen.

  • Fully digital, automated pipeline and AI-aided decision support.

  • Significantly faster turnaround time and up to 200% higher throughput.
